"Runway" - Airport De-Icer

Kellands offer the Runway range of high output machines designed specifically for the application of de-icing solutions to runway and perimeter areas. Like the mounted range, it is designed with simplicity of attachment and operation in mind and is available with a wide range of tank sizes, pumps, boom widths and control systems, to suit individual needs.
The model illustrated is a 4000-litre stainless steel tank unit with 22-metre aluminium hydraulic folding booms. It has a three-section electric shut off system controlled from inside the cab for total flexibility during operation. All the components used are of the highest quality to ensure a long and reliable service life, this includes as standard, powder coated steel work, stainless steel nuts & bolts and reinforced polypropylene fittings in the plumbing system.
For any operator, controlling the sprayer from inside the cab could not be easier. When spraying, the full boom width can be turned on and off at the flick of a single switch, should only partial spray width be required then individual section switches are provided. A pressure adjustment switch is also included to enable the operator to compensate for any change in forward speed. (Automatic flow control systems are available on request). Finally, in the event of a failure of the 12v power supply, manual override taps can be fitted to bypass the electric controls and allow basic operation of the sprayer.
Large and clearly visible gauges are fitted as standard to show spray pressure and litres remaining in the tank.
A wide range of high capacity pumps are available to suit the required application rates and all are equipped with filters on both the suction and pressure sides.
Also fitted as standard are storage lockers for protective clothing, a 15-litre clean water container for hand washing, hydraulic brakes, road lighting, high specification wheels & tyres and a drawbar jack-leg.
